Pond aquaculture -- Datab
About the Edition

Since 1983 PD/A CRSP researchers have conducted comprehensive, long-term research to study the physical, chemical, and biological processes of pond ecosystems in Central and South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. The results of these studies have been compiled into the PD/A CRSP Central Database, containing over one million observations of pond variables obtained from over one hundred production studies. The studies pertain to the tropical and sub-tropical production of tilapia, peneaid shrimp, and other warmwater culture species in solar algae ponds that receive inputs such as plant materials, inorganic and organic fertilizers, and prepared feeds. Datasets may be searched and retrieved based on geographical location, fish culture methods and species, and desired types of data such as weather, water quality, pond soil, management schedules for water, fertilizers, and fish feeds, and fish production. Datasets may be viewed in tabular and graphical formats or downloaded for use in spreadsheets or other databases. Also available are descriptions of PD/A CRSP research sites, analytical methods, and contacts with PD/A CRSP researchers.

Description PD/A CRSP aquaculture database EPUB

The PD/A CRSP Aquaculture Database is a centralized data and information resource for pond-based aquaculture research conducted under the Pond Dynamics/Aquaculture Collaborative Research Support Program ().The Database contains descriptions, materials and methods, empirical datasets, publications, and other information for nearly CRSP projects (experiments, studies, and activities).

The Publications Database contains references for the given search criteria. The list below is ordered by publication site, year, type, and title. If global scope is selected, publications that are global in scope and may apply to the selected site are appended after site-specific publications.

There may be no site-specific publications. Click on the publication title for more detailed. You are viewing the archived website of Pond Dynamics / Aquaculture CRSP. When using this website, please understand that links may be broken and content may be out of date.

You can view more information on the continuation of PD/A CRSP research archived at AquaFish Innovation Lab. Site Descriptions. Use the CRSP Database home page to look up descriptions and maps for participating host country and US institutions (current and historical). Internet links to cooperating institutions are also provided.

Downloadable PDF files provide profiles of PD/A CRSP research sites and their regions, as well as maps, schematics, PD/A CRSP aquaculture database book, and site-specific contact information. The PD/A CRSP has placed emphasis on measuring the effects of pond water quality variables on fish production and developing management procedures for improving water quality.

However, some research has been conducted on pond soils, and future work on pond dynamics will no doubt have a greater focus on pond soil : Claude E. Boyd, James R. Bowman. This book uses data from CRSP field research sites in East Africa, Southeast Asia, Central America, and North America to present a complete picture of the pond system and the environment in which it exists.A thorough study of the principles and practices of aquaculture, the book reflects the state of the art in PD/A CRSP aquaculture database book aquaculture and incorporates.

he PD/A CRSP Central Database is a centralized data storage and retrieval system for PD/A CRSP research and for other aquaculture research programs with compatible objectives and standardized methodology.

The Database contains more than one million observations of pond variables. She co-authored with Claude Boyd the popular book, Dynamics of Pond Aquaculture (CRC Press, ), was executive producer of a DVD documentary on global pond aquaculture practices, Ponds for Life (), and participated in the production of podcasts and video stories as part of the CRSP team.

In conjunction with the Pond Dynamics/Aquaculture Collaborative Research Support Program (PD/A CRSP), the authors have developed a water quality model (the Aquaculture Pond Ecosystem Model, A.P.E.M.) which predicts temperature and dissolved oxygen stratification at several sites, including Thailand, Rwanda, and Honduras.

The AquaFish Collaborative Research Support Program (CRSP) (present) and its predecessors -- the Pond Dynamics/Aquaculture (PD/A) CRSP () and Aquaculture CRSP () -- have long recognized the marginalization of women, inherent social and economic inequalities, and the vulnerable positions that women occupy in.
